Nine lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State House of Assembly have defected from the party to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
This was revealed in a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Affairs of the assembly, Malam Uba Abdullahi on Friday.
The defection notice was contained in their respective defection letters addressed to the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly notifying the House of their defection on Friday.
The statement added that the letters were officially received by the House on Friday and that the House wishes them well.
It further revealed that the affected members have defected to NNPP and that the members stated that some of the reasons for their defections bordered on leadership tussle in PDP both at State and National Levels.
The defected lawmakers, according to the statement, include Isyaku Ali Danja (Gezawa) Umar Musa Gama, (Nassarawa), Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo (Ungogo), Lawan Hussain Chediyar ‘Yan Gurasa (Dala), Tukur Muhd (Fagge), Mu’azzam El-Yakub (Dawakin Kudu), Garba Shehu Fammar (Kibiya), Abubakar Uba Galadima (Bebeji), and Mudassir Ibrahim Zawaciki (Kumbotso).
