President Bola Tinubu Nigeria’s economic outlook has improved due to his administration’s economic reforms.
Tinubu who stated this during his Independence Day broadcast on Thursday, while defending his administration’s economic reforms, said the change was “undeniable.”
He said the reforms have addressed economic weaknesses and Nigerians must resist calls to reverse the reforms, particularly the return of petrol subsidy, describing such appeals as a “siren song”.
Tinubu said the reforms addressed long-standing weaknesses, adding that recent improvements in key economic indicators show the country is on the path to recovery.
The president said his administration has moved beyond what he described as the “emergency treatment” phase and is now focused on delivering prosperity.
“Our reforms did not create the weaknesses in our economy. They confronted them,” he stated.
