The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday reported zero new COVID-19 cases for the first time.
Nigeria has a total of 167,206 infections have now been confirmed across 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) since the country recorded its index case of coronavirus on February 27, 2020.
The country hasn’t recorded new death from the complications from the virus for the 16th consecutive day.
The COVID-19 fatality toll is 2,117 at present, the NCDC said.
The NCDC data indicates that seven patients were discharged on Sunday after recovering from the disease.
The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Nigeria stands at 163,557.
However, the Sunday’s update does not include data from Lagos state, according to the agency.
