The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 says Nigeria recorded four cases of B117 strain of COVID-19.
Chairman of PTF on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said this during a briefing on Monday.
He said of the four cases, three were travellers from Nigeria to other places while the fourth person was discovered in-country.
The B117 strain was first reported in the United Kingdom and South Africa, and more deadly.
The SGF said PTF has been closely following the rising number of infections reported daily in Nigeria and in other jurisdictions, even as Nigerian scientists have been sequencing the variants of the virus.
He appealed to Nigerians and school proprietors to take all precautionary measures against COVID-19.
