Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has travelled out of the country, his media aide, Mary Noel- Berje, has said in a statement, on Monday.
This came less than 24 hours after bandits abducted some schoolchildren from Salihu Tanko Islamic School in Rafi local government area of Niger state.
The incident, which happened Sunday evening, is the second in the state, among several others this year, of abductions of schoolchildren by bandits.
The statement said the governor traveled for a security mission and is expected back in the country “within the shortest period.”
