President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Armed Forces and Police to ensure immediate and safe return of all the captives.
Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement in a statement on Wednesday.
Twenty seven students and 17 staff of Government Science Student Kagara in Niger State were abducted by bandits in their hostels early Wednesday morning, coming four days after the bandits abducted 21 passengers in a bus belonging to the state’s transportation company.
The statement said the president has also dispatched to Minna, Niger State a team of security chiefs to coordinate the rescue operation and meet with state officials, community leaders, as well as parents and staff of the College.
“Our prayers are with the families of the victims of this attack,” the statement said, as the president condemned as “cowardly” the attack on innocent school children.
