The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) described the death of former Information Minister Prince Tony Momoh, and former Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Mr. Ben Egbuna, as painful and great loss to journalism in Nigeria.
The editors said Momoh was an elder statesman, a patriot and a nationalist who dedicated his life to the service of his country. It said the former minister will be missed by the guild, the media, and the country at large.
Egbuna was a thorough-bred broadcaster, who was meticulous, and had an uncompromising disposition to the media ethics, the guild said in a statement by its President Mustapha Isah and General Secretary, Mary Atolagbe on Tuesday.
The NGE prayed for the repose of the soul of Egbuna, and for his family, friends and colleagues the grace to bear the loss.
