Kano state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has finally opened up on the purported planned scrap of the newly created emirates in the state, saying they have come to stay.
The incoming NNPP administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf is said to be contemplating scrapping the four emirates Ganduje created.
Ganduje said God will not allow whosoever is planning to scrap the new emirates to succeed.
The governor made the assertionduring the 2023 May Day celebration held at Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium in Kano.
According to him, the creation of the four emirates was done for the spread of positive development as well as the spread of economic growth within all sectors of the state’s development trend.
He explained that there has been a report that the incoming administration is planning evil towards the newly established emirates, and he said that plan will fail.
“God will not allow them to succeed in their plan against the five emirates, though we will be out of government, we will continue to pray for the survival of these emirates. I want to tell you that these emirates were established to poster development and peaceful coexistence in the state and as such the emirates have come to stay, ” he said.
The governor also informed the state civil servants that the Kano state government is considering the cancellation of deductions on the low-cost houses built for teachers in the state, adding that the state has done a lot in ensuring a stable working atmosphere for all workers to operate.
In his address, the state chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Kabiru Inuwa commended the state government on the recent approval of worker’s promotion and the implementation of the FG-approved minimum wage.
