The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, on Friday said the establishment of the Nigerian Army Depot was a strategic investment in national security and youth development.
The COAS stated this during a courtesy visit to Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State ahead of the historic Passing Out Parade of the first set of recruits trained at the Nigerian Army Depot in the state.
Gen. Shaibu praisef the Osun State Government for supporting the establishment of the Depot, and assured that the passing-out recruits are well-trained and ready to serve the nation with dedication and discipline.
Army spokesperson, Col. Appolonia Anele, in a statement on Friday in Abuja, said the parade, scheduled for Saturday, marked a significant milestone for the army’s expansion of training infrastructure and the professional development of its personnel in the state.
Gov. Adeleke described the event as a landmark achievement for the state and pledged continued support to the Nigerian Army in its constitutional mandate to protect lives and property.
He thanked the Nigerian army and President Bola Tinubu for the establishment of the training Depot in the state.
The governor said the depot had increased military presence and boosted the security confidence of the people.
The Passing Out Parade will feature military drills, inspections, and other ceremonial activities, showcasing the Army’s commitment to professionalism and operational readiness.
