Operatives of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 140 grammes of methamphetamine stuffed inside a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, heading for the Philippines.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
He said the operatives also intercepted
500 grammes of heroin concealed in auto spare parts heading for Canada.
Babafemi said 3.1kg of Indian hemp concealed inside spices and another 1kg concealed in local herbs heading for the United Arab Emirates were also seized.
He said the NDLEA operatives in Ondo State arrested 31 suspects, including seven women, in possession of 276 kg of assorted illicit drugs.
In Akwa Ibom, he said the NDLEA seized 62.150kg of illicit drugs in Oron and Uyo.
