The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has called on residents of Afaka and environs in Kaduna to remain calm as it conducts its Cadets Brigade Inter-Company Fit for Fight Competition on Saturday.
The Academy’s spokesperson, Maj. Reuben Kovangiya, said this on Friday in Kaduna.
He said that the competition which would hold from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and involve Short Service Cadets is designed to enhance the cadets’ mental toughness, tactical skills, situational awareness and adaptability.
Kovangiya said residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka as well as other members of the public should not panic if they hear explosions during the event.
He said all necessary safety measures had been put in place to ensure a successful and safe conduct of the exercise, just as he conveyed the regards of NDA Commandant, Maj.-Gen. Oluyemi Olatoye, and thanked the public for its continued cooperation.
