The Nigerian Customs Service, Sector 4 has seized a consignment of sex enhancing drugs with the duty paid value of N19.6 million.
The Coordinating Comptroller of the Sector, Kolapo Oladeji disclosed this on Thursday in Sokoto, adding that the drugs were intercepted at Kajiji area along Sokoto-Kebbi road.
Oladeji said also seized were counterfeit drugs which duty paid whose values had not been ascertained yet, adding that “These drugs are very dangerous to the health of our people.
“Some of them even carried fake NAFDAC registration and expecting date,” he said
The Comptroller also his team intercepted trucks load of food items heading to Niger Republic through the Kebbi border.
“We will leave no stone unturned to block food smuggling out of the country because of the current situation in the country
“We all know that prices of food items.have skyrocketed because of the unpatriotic acts of some Nigerians. Our people are hungry but they prefer to take the food to other countries despite the border closures imposed by ECOWAS.
“We will continue to trail them and block their routes. And whoever is caught in this nefarious act will face the full wrath of the law,” he said
The agency also intercepted 60 jerry cans of petrol along the Illela border which were auctioned to the public.
