About N46.85 billion was generated as revenue by the Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited Command of Nigeria Customs Service for the first quarter of 2021.
A statement by the spokesman of the command, Muhammad Yakubu, however, said there were shortfalls in the amount generated for January and February in comparison to what was collected within the same months in 2020.
The breakdown by the command on month-by-month basis shows that N15.21bn was generated in January 2021. This shows a shortfalls of 7.6 percent compared to N16.46bn generated in January 2020.
In the same vein, while the command raked in N11.71bn in February 2021, it netted N13.3bn within the same period in 2020, indicating a shortfalls of 11.9 percent.
However, it’s March collection of N19.94bn was higher than N15.65bn it generated within the same period last year, showing 27.4 percent difference.
