The country was early on Thursday thrown into blackout as the national grid suffered a total system collapse.
The development was confirmed by electricity distribution companies (DisCos), in different notices to customers.
The grid according to the DISCOs, grid collapsed at about 12.40 am on Thursday.
This is the first time the electricity national grid will be collapsing in more than a year.
About a fortnight ago, the TCN announced that the national grid had witnessed no collapse in 400 days, describing it as a significant milestone.
However, the national power grid suffered 46 collapses between 2017 and 2022.
