A former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr Olaide Adelami, has been named as the deputy governor of Ondo State.
A statement by the spokesperson of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Wednesday, said his principal had forwarded the name of the new deputy governor to the state House of Assembly for approval.
This appointment is coming a few hours after Governor Aiyedatiwa dissolved the state cabinet
Adeniyan said “His (Adelami) nomination will be announced by the House of Assembly later today,” the statement read.
Adelami who retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly in April 2018, is an indigene of Owo, Owo Local Government Area, the same LGA of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Adelami contested the state governorship race under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2020 but stepped down for the late Akeredolu
