A 26-year-old student of Nasarawa State University, Abbas Itopa Sanni, has been found dead around Galadimawa roundabout in Abuja.
A close associate, Charles Nsa, said the incident happened on Saturday night, close to the deceased’s residence.
He said Sanni, a student of Computer Science at Nasarawa, was a fast rising Nigerian music star, and went by the name Aybeewon. He said Sanni was murdered by unknown persons in cold blood on his way back home from a studio session,
Nsa said; “The Police initially suspected the death as a case of late night hit and run, but were baffled when the mortician at the Federal Medical Centre Abuja, while cleaning the corpse found several cuts on the body, one to the heart, on his arm, his thigh and his waist.
“None of his belongings (phone, wallet, money) were missing as at the time the body was found, which points to a clear case of murder.”
Efforts to speak to the FCT Police spokesperson, Maryam Yusuf, was unsuccessful, as she neither responded to calls nor replied text messages put across to her mobile phone.
