Senator-elect for Nasarawa West senatorial district, Ahmed Wadada, said he would appoint Special Assistants from all the 59 Wards in the five Local Governments Areas of his constituency.
Wadada, elected on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), disclosed this on Monday in Keffi when he met with the leadership of his campaign council.
The former two-term member of the House of Representatives said the initiative was a way to involve people of the district in the day-to-day activities, adding that the appointments would be part of his efforts to ensure that his constituents enjoy more dividends of democracy.
He said the appointment of the aides would enable him to keep in touch with the electorate, hear their complaints and get their reactions and contributions on issues that affect them.
Wadada said appointments would also serve as a reward and motivation for those who worked to ensure that he won the election.
”I made a pledge during the campaign period that I will redouble efforts to provide quality representation for the people of Nasarawa West.
“The expectation of the people will not be traded differently from when I was in the House of Representatives 12 years ago.I will improve upon it by giving more qualitative representation.
”They are not new to my style of leadership and they also knew what I had done and what I can do, which Insha Allah, I will not fail them.
“I am assuring the electorate that those qualities of representation that they knew of me is what they should expect and even beyond,”, he said.
Wadada said that he would do everything possible to respond to all developmental needs of his people as a responsive leader.
The meeting was his first after winning in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.
His constituency covers Kokona, Keffi, Karu, Nasarawa and Toto local government areas.
