Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has picked Senator Aliyu Wadada as his choice to fly the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship flag in the 2027 election in the state.
The governor made this known during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House in Lafia on Thursday.
Wadada who currently represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, recently dumped the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the APC.
Earlier on, APC stakeholders took to the streets of Lafia to express their solidarity with Wadada where they moved to the Government House on Monday.
The Chairman of the solidarity group under the aegis of Wadada Ambassadors, Zaidu Aliyu Tanko, declared their unwavering support for the Senator’s governorship candidacy, citing his track record of service, leadership, and vision for the state’s future.
He said, “Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada possesses the requisite skills and experience to lead Nasarawa State towards sustainable growth and prosperity. His passion for service, integrity, and ability to connect with diverse groups makes him an ideal candidate.”
As a result, the group urged the APC leadership and the government of Nasarawa State to consider Senator Wadada’s aspiration, recognising his political strength and unmatched potential to lead the state to greater heights.
