Former Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai ha spent a second night in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud running into over N400 billions.
It was learnt that was still being grilled by operatives of the commission since he reported to the headquarters on Monday.
A source in the commission told the Daily Trust that the former governor would remain with them till Wednesday, saying he may be granted administrative bail.
“I can confirm to you that he’s with us,” the source said on Tuesday.
The commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, was not forthcoming with responses despite several calls to his lines Tuesday night. Both text and WhatsApp messages were yet to be responded to as at the time of filing this report
Both the Directorate of State Services (DSS) and the Federal Government are separately investigating the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain for allegedly tapping the phone line of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
The DSS has slammed a three-count charge on el-Rufai and would arraign him in a court after the conclusion of investigation.
