A mob in Charanchi Local Government Area in Katsina State has beaten a suspected car snatcher to death.
It was learnt that the suspect together with four others robbed one Alhaji Usman Abdulmumini of his Honda car, valued at N2.6m.
The gang attacked Abdulmumini on his farm in nearby Kankia Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, said policemen were despatched to the scene of the robbery after it received a distress call adding that on sighting the police team, the robbers attempted to reverse the car to escape.
But the mob accosted the robbers and descended on them, leading to the death of one of the assailants.
Isah said Abdulmumini was supervising work at his farm when the robbers attacked him and snatched his Honda, valued at N2,600,000
“The command is making efforts with a view to arresting other members of the syndicate that escaped in the other vehicle,” he said.
