Minna Emirate Council in Niger State has suspended the District Head of Allawa, Malam Bello Haruna, over forceful marriage and insubordination.
Allawa is in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The emirate appointed Ahmadu Magaji, the Galadima Allawa as the acting district head.
A letter by the assistant secretary to the emirate council, Usman Umaru Guni, said the traditional ruler forcefully married out a girl, humiliated her father and also ordered her beaten up by vigilantes.
The district head was also accused of failure to respond to calls by the palace to explain the allegations against him.
According to the emirate, the action of the suspended district head was indicative of his inability to lead as a traditional ruler.
