The Minister of State for Works, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo has promised to intervene in the areas of water, road and solar energy for the Federal University, Dutse.
The Minister made the promise when the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel and his management team paid a courtesy call on him in Abuja yesterday .
Barrister Goronyo who congratulated the VC over his appointment, noted that FUD is relatively new and needed the support of critical stakeholders to succeed, adding that education is a key priority of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because education is the bedrock of societal development.
He said he will present the request of the VC to the Minister of Works Engineer David Umahi but as the overseer of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), he will try his best to assist the young university, adding that he will also speak to the Minister of Water Resources to help the university with water projects to make things easy for the students
Barrister Goronyo told the VC that he will take up the case of the solar energy with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) because the government is already addressing the issues of Power with some pilot projects for Tertiary Institutions.
The Minister encouraged the VC to visit other Ministries and Agencies to seek partnership and collaboration to move the nascent University forward.
Earlier in his remark, Prof. Gumel told the Minister that the FUD is a very young institution that need support of the Minister in areas of roads, hostels, water and solar energy.
He said despite the relatively young age of the university, it is the best among the universities founded by President Goodluck Jonathan and even outperforms older universities in certain areas.
He praised the Minister for his outstanding achievements since his assumption of duty while praying to Allah to grant him success in all his endeavors.
