The military said “strong force” could be used against anyone who tries to destroy Saturday’s presidential election.
Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, revealed this Thursday at Defence headquarters, Abuja during the ongoing joint press briefing of critical security.
Those in attendance include the spokesman of the Department of State Services, Peter Afunanya; the Public Relations Officers of Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi; NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Wap Maigida, among others.
President Muhammadu Buhari and security chiefs held a meeting on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and assured that the Saturday election would go on as planned.
The National Security Council comprises the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, and some Ministers, among others.
