The Nigerian military and National Center for Artificial Intelligence Robotics and Robotics (NCAIR) will develop modern methods of intelligence gathering to address security challenges confronting the country.
Director, NCAIR, Engr. Ya’u Garba Isa, disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday when he played host to Rector of Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology (NACEST) Makurdi, Benue State, Brig.-General Yahaya Abdulhamid.
In a statement by the organization, Isa said the partnership with the military would open an “opportunity for the center to explore manufacturing of locally made military hardware that will be used in fighting criminal elements.”
He said the center is also looking into the possibility of producing ‘Digital Grenade’, which can be used with ‘Wireless Censored Network’ in detecting some vital information during military operations.
Garba assured NACEST’s management of support towards the realization of the mutual synergy that will bring about a suitable environment for discovery and harnessing the abundant creative ideas of Nigeria’s teeming youth through the promotion of innovative technologies.
General Abdulhamid said the idea to partner with the NITDA was borne out of the impact the agency had made in areas of emerging technologies.
