A mentally sick man John Dimie has been stoned to death over suspicion of witchcraft by some youths in Agudama Epie axis of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, in a statement on Saturday, who revealed this said a viral video on the social media showed some youths on a roof top of a building on September 14 stoning the victim.
Butswart said the viral video was being used to identify the perpetrators to arrest them.
The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police haordered operatives of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to fish out the culprits.
He said, “The viral video is being subjected to forensic analysis to identify the perpetrators and arrest them.”
On Friday, police arrested arrested a woman at Okutukutu axis of Yenagoa for chaining her stepson to a pole over witchcraft accusation.
