The Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Buratai has commended the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole for its success in dislodging Boko Haram terrorists at Marte, a town in Northern Borno state.
Buratai gave the commendation on Sunday in a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brig-General Sagir Musa.
Boko Haram terrorists aligned with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on Friday invaded a military base at Marte.
Military sources, however, said the troops acting on credible intelligence withdrew before the terrorists’ invasion, but returned, ambushed and killed scores of them.
