Some youths have drown as gunmen suspected to be bandits launched fresh attacks on Gurumana community in Shiroro local government of Niger State.
The youths were fleeing the attack scene when they drowned in River Kaduna on Saturday, Abubakar Kukoki Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youths, said.
21st Century Chronicle reports that the incident is coming few days after gunmen attacked Government Science College Kagara and abducted some students.
Kukoki said divers were still searching for the missing youths, whose number he said cannot be yet ascertained.
“Many have fled the community and the profiling is on to ascertain those who are missing,” he explained.
The gunmen he added, had invaded the community in large number, well-armed, as they were approaching their target.
He further said that many people also sustained injuries as a result of the attack.
