The police in Niger state have arrested a 20-year-old man, Lawali Danladi, for killing his wife following quarrels over the pap she prepared for him.
Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun said the suspect was arrested in Kadaura village in Yakila Gunna district of Rafi local government area.
Abiodun said the suspect had beaten his wife, Zulai Lawal to a coma during the quarrel.
He said the suspect had confessed to having beaten his wife to coma, adding that by the time she was rushed to the General Hospital Wushishi, she was confirmed dead.
Danladi when paraded at the Niger state Police Headquarters in Minna said that he never knew she would die out of the beating.
Abiodun said the investigation has commenced into the incident and the suspect would be charged to court.
