President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday set up a team to dialogue with Twitter over the ban of the microblogging site.
Information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
The federal government had on June 4 suspended the microblogging site for allegedly “undermining the corporate existence” of Nigeria. The decision sparked outcries from Nigeria’s allies, including the United State and Britain, which described the development as undermining the freedom of speech of the citizenry.
The team, according to Mohammed, comprise the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and his counterpart in the Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
“The team also comprises the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Works and Housing, Minister of State for Labour and Employment as well as other relevant government agencies,” the statement said.
