Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has submitted the report of last Tuesday’s explosion at Dejo Oyelese Close, Adeyi Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan to President Bola Tinubu.
Makinde submitted the report at the weekend to the president at the Vialla.
Tinubu had earlier commiserate with the government and people of Oyo State over the incident, and also ordered the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) “to work with the Oyo State Government to offer immediate and comprehensive relief to the victims.”
The president also appealed to all concerned agencies of government to quickly unravel the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has taken over the investigations of the explosion.
Investigation and forensic analysis initiated by the state government are currently ongoing.
The NSA and the Minister of Minister Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake will visit the blast site in Bodija on Monday and Ribadu will do an on-the-spot assessment and be briefed by the state government and its investigators.
This will enable Ribadu to decide on how the Office of the NSA will collaborate with them.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Olukayode Ariwoola who is an indigene of the state, visited the scene and expressed shock at what he saw.
Alakesaid in a statement that the Federal Government would make a statement on the blastif the result of the forensic investigation is released.
