Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has nominated a former commissioner for Justice in the state, Bayo Lawal as the new deputy governor.
This is coming hours after Mr Rauf Olaniyan was impeached as deputy governor by the state assembly.
He was impeached by the Oyo State House of Assembly on Monday over allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office, financial recklessness, among others, following his defection from PDP to APC.
Before his appointment, Lawal was the Chairman of the State Housing Corporation.
Mr Lawal, who hails from Kisi in the Irepo Local Government area, also served as the state Attorney-General.
