Maryam Abacha American University Kano has named a female hostel after late student Zainab Najashi Danbatta.
Miss Danbatta was a 300-level student of Physiotherapy who passed away on 22 April 2025 after a brief illness.
The Founder and President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gearzo, announced the naming of the hostel after the late student in a statement on Saturday.
He said the university management decided to honour late Zainab Najashi Danbatta by immortalising her name.
Prof. Gwarzo said late Zainab would continue to be cherished and remembered for the fact that she was a hard working, humble and disciplined student who had respect for her faculty members, colleagues and other people.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grant the deceased the highest level of Jannah and comfort her parents over the great loss.
