Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria has been chosen to serve as a training provider for the flagship of 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Program, led by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
Notably, MAAUN is Nigeria’s first private university to assume this role, partnering with National Information Technology Development Authority (NITDA) in the initiative.
The program is to be coordinated by MAAUN’s research division, the MAAUN Innovation Hub, which operates under the auspices of the Institute of Africa Higher Education Research and Innovation (IAHERI).
The collaboration was publicly announced by the National Coordinator of the 3MTT Program during a virtual stakeholder meeting on April 8, 2025.
The national program seeks to expand Nigeria’s technical workforce and promote a vibrant digital economy.
Given MAAUN’s reputation for delivering high-quality education and skills development, its selection reflects the university’s standing as a key player in Nigeria’s digital transformation.
The 3MTT Program aims to train three million Nigerians in advanced technical skills to position the country as a leading digital hub.
Currently, the initiative has enrolled an initial cohort of 40 participants, with a target of 400 for the current phase
