The arrest of a prominent Islamic State (IS) member responsible for deadly attacks in the Libyan capital Tripoli in 2018 has been announced by Prime Minister Abdul-Hamed Dbeibah.
In a speech, Dbeibah stated that the nation’s security forces had detained an IS leader on Tuesday afternoon who had planned and directed suicide attacks on the main offices of significant governmental organizations and government employees in 2018.
In addition to promising to work to stabilize Libya, modernize its security and military institutions, and restore normalcy to all areas of the country, the prime minister of Libya committed to combat all kinds of terrorism both inside and outside his nation.
The National Oil Corporation, the Foreign Ministry, and the Higher Commission of Elections headquarters all suffered attacks from the IS in Tripoli in 2018.
No fewer than 19 people were killed in the attacks while dozens of others were injured.
