Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba State is to inaugurate a seven-man advisory committee on the full implementation of local government autonomy.
The committee, according to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Yusuf Sanda, was set up by the governor, following the recent Supreme Court judgement granting financial autonomy to local governments in Nigeria.
he said the committee is chaired by Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Traditional Affairs and member representing Mbamnga State Constituency, Mr. Abel Peter Diah with members including Mr. Gebon Timothy Kataps, Secretary to the Government of Taraba State; Barr. Yakubu Maikasuwa (SAN), Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Alh. Hassan Aminu, ALGON Chairman.
Others are Director Inspectorate of Bureau for local government and chieftaincy, Lilian Jonathan; Mr. Bala Hussein and Mr. Ezekiel Polycarp who will serve as Secretaries.
