Senator Ali Ndume (All Progressives Congress, APC, Borno South), has called for power shift to the south.
He made the call at an interactive session with members of the Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council, saying he is against the presidency being retained in the north.
Ndume said it would amount to third term for the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to retain power after 2023 election when President Muhammadu Buhari would have left office, adding that the move by the north to continually retain power after Buhari is unconstitutional.
He said Nigeria has been so divided along ethnic and regional lines, adding that for equity, fairness and justice should shift to the South because the North has had its own, having had its two term tenure.
