The member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, has condemned the attack on Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
Agbo, in a statement by his Media Adviser, Mr. Andrew Agbese, described the attack which happened on Saturday at Tyo Mu along Makurdi/Gboko road in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State, as a failed attempt to silence the voice of reason crying in defence of the people of Benue.
The lawmaker thanked God that the gunmen who reportedly trailed the governor to a river bank on foot, did not succeed in harming him.
He said if the attack was meant to silence Governor Ortom and make him compromise on the security and wellbeing of his people, then those behind it have failed as the Governor is not someone who can be intimidated.
