Former governor of Kano State and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso has visited the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Both leaders held a closed-door meeting shortly after an exchange of pleasantries, it was gathered.
Also present at the meeting was former governor of Ekiti State and Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential aspirant in the last primary of the party, Ayo Fayose.
Although the purpose was unclear, it may not be unconnected to the 2023 general elections.
Wike has been receiving high-profile politicians in Port Harcourt since he lost the contest for the PDP’s ticket to Atiku Abubakar during the PDP’s primary in Abuja.
Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi recently visited Wike in Port Harcourt.
On Thursday, the River State governor received Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda and other PDP politicians, also in Port Harcourt.
Others who were also in Port Harcourt recently include Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe, and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoki.
