The chairman of Igalamela Local Government Area of Kogi State, James Onoja, has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of ammunition and lots of cash.
Onoja was arrested by security agents detailed for elections in the state on Saturday with the money and the ammunition packed in several ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags.
It was learnt that money and ammunition were meant for use during the election.
In a viral video, both the council chairman and his gang were seen expressing regrets and pleading for forgiveness.
The state Police spokesperson, William Ovye was yet to issue a statement on this development as at press time.
