Two students of the Federal University Lafia have been abducted when bandits invaded the community which hosts the university.
A student of the school told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the incident happened at about 7pm on Saturday.
He said the gunmen shot sporadically into the air while they whisked the students away without any intervention from security operatives in the area.
A security source said the kidnappers had reached out to the parents of the students and demanded N25 million as ransom.
Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident.
He said the command has despatched operatives of its operatives of anti-kidnapping unit to commence a thorough search for the victims.
He assured relations that the police would do everything possible to rescue them from their abductors.
