One of the kidnapped teachers of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, Michael Oyedokun, has been beheaded by bandits.
A video shared on Telegram, on Monday, showed that Oyedokun was gruesomely murdered after being tied and forced to speak.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde’s spokesperson Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju, confirmed the murder in a statement on Monday.
He said Makinde has condoled with the Oyedokun family and assured that his government would explore both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to rescue others in the kidnappers’ den.
Olanrewaju said six suspects linked to the kidnapping had been arrested.
Makinde also sympathised with the family members of the team of soldiers, Amotekun Corps and local vigilantes, who were killed by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), planted by the abductors.
He said the operatives were killed when they ran into the IEDs, adding that some of the wounded security personnel were responding positively to treatment and that the government would spare no cost in taking care of them.
