Kidnappers have reportedly seized the younger brother of Bishop Hassan Kukah, Ishaya Kukah, and six other persons, including women and children, in Anchuna village, Ikulu Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Another relative of the Bishop who lives in the area, Samuel Kukah, revealed this,
They were reportedly kidnapped Wednesday night, throwing the community into panic as the armed assailants stormed the village in large numbers, shooting repeatedly before whisking their victims away.
“My brother, Ishaya, was the only male among the abductees; the rest are women and children, the attackers launched their attack around 11pm,” he said.
Kukah said the gunmen were yet to contact the family as at press time.
“We are praying for their safety while waiting for any call,” he said, and appealed to security agencies to secure the safe return of the victims. He said most of those abducted were vulnerable individuals.
The Kaduna State Police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, was yet to respond to enquiries on the matter as at press time.
