Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi has sacked all political appointees of his predecessor Atiku Bagudu, and also appointed eight principal officers.
Press Secretary to the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, revealed this is a statement on Wednesday.
Those appointed include Barrister Attahiru Macido as Chief of Staff, and Alhaji Yakubu Bala (Tafidan Yauri) as Secretary to the State Government.
Others include Aminu Musa Danko (Personal Assistant to the governor), Umar Shehu Balti (Senior Special Assistant on protocol), and Ahmed Idris (Press Secretary to the governor).
Also also appointed are Aliyu Bandalo Argungu (Special Adviser New Media), Umar Shehu Balti (Senior Special Assistant New Media), and Yahaya Sarki (Special Adviser on Media and Publicity).
Mr Idris explained that all appointments were based on merit and track records of the appointees, adding that the appointments took effect from May 29.
“The governor challenged the appointees to regard their appointments as call to service and to do their best to justify the confidence reposed in them,’’ he stated.
