Katsina state government on Thursday lifted the ban on mobile telecommunications network services in the state.
The Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Masari on security matters, Ibrahim Ahmed Katsina, disclosed this to 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE in a telephone interview on Thursday.
On September 11, 2021, the Katsina government cut mobile telecommunication networks in 13 local government areas of the state as part of efforts to discourage bandits being chased from Zamfara and Kaduna states from relocating to the state.
He said: “As I speak to you, network have been restored in some local government areas.”
The governor’s adviser said a statement is expected to be released by the state government soon.
The frontline local government areas affected by the ban are Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Kurfi, Danmusa, Dutsin Ma, Kankara, Matazu, Musawa, Funtua, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Bakori, Danja and Malunfashi.
