The families of a Shari’a Court in Katsina state, Khadi Shehu Yakubu Hassan, have called on to the security agents to help rescue their father who has been in kidnappers den for 27 days.
The victim, who is the Shari’a judge in Sabuwa local government area, was kidnapped alongside his sister in-law while he was driving back to Funtua from his working place.
In a statement by one of his sons, Mustapha Shehu, the judge had his car, Peougeot 406 model, burnt down before he was abducted.
The family said they’ve not heard from the kidnappers since they contacted the family twice. It has been 27 days now and they’ve heard anything from them.
“They wrote letters to us twice demanding for N15 million but we don’t have such money with us and since there is no availability of network, we tried to negotiate with them. From those two instances, we’ve not heard anything from them,” he said.
Efforts to get the reaction of the state police command spokesperson, Gambo Isa, proved abortive as at the time of filing this story.
