The Katsina State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission has detained a permanent secretary and five other government officials for allegedly misappropriating about N136.1 million.
The commission’s Secretary, Alhaji Jamilu Abdulsalam, revealed this on Tuesday in Katsina and identified the permanent secretary as Alhaji Muheeb Ibrahim who was a former Permanent Secretary of the Department of Banking and Finance and currently Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission.
He however did not give the names of the five others.
“The suspects are linked to alleged misappropriation of N136,126,970 from the department’s account.”
Abdulsalam said the commission is investigating the matter to uncover the full details and ensure accountability, adding that more updates would follow as the investigation is in progress.
According to him, the offence was committed between October 2023 and 2024, saying
the suspects would be prosecuted.
