A fire incident on Monday razed some shops, including the upper building of the old Savannah Bank at Singer Market in Kano.
The public relations officer of the fire service, Saminu Abdullahi, stated that the fire started at about 2:00 a.m.
The statement said the fire service received a distress call around 2:18 am from a man known as Sai’du Hamza, that there was a fire at the market in Fagge Local Government Area of the state.
The service, on receiving the information, quickly sent personnel and fire fighting vehicles to the scene of the incident around 2:22am to put off the fire so it would not spread to other adjoining shops,” Abdullahi said.
