Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered security agencies to swiftly track down and prosecute those behind the killing of a woman and her children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of the Kano metropolis.
Describing the incident as horrific and inhuman, the governor said the murder of a mother and her innocent children was a grievous crime that offends the conscience of society and must not go unpunished.
In a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf expressed profound grief over the tragedy and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family, residents of Dorayi Chiranchi and the entire people of Kano State.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and asked Allah to grant their family the fortitude to bear the loss. The governor stressed that his administration would pursue justice diligently, insisting that the perpetrators must face the full consequences of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.
The statement further revealed that Governor Yusuf has directed the Kano State Police Command to intensify investigations and ensure the culprits are apprehended without delay.
Additionally, the governor ordered the Kano State Neighbourhood Corps to step up patrols and community surveillance, particularly in high-risk areas, as part of measures to strengthen security at the grassroots and forestall a recurrence of such tragic incidents.
