The Governor of Kano state Abba Kabir Yusuf and his Jigawa State counterpart Umar Namadi are have travelled to Saudi Arabia for the funeral of business mogul Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
The funeral would take place in Madina on Monday.
Dantata died on Saturday in the early hours of Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
According to the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor Yusuf is in company of the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, former Governor of Jigawa State Ali Saad Birnin Kudu and other top government officials.
The burial of late Aminu Dantata in Madina is in fulfillment of his last wish.
Speaking shortly before departure at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Governor Yusuf described the late Dantata as “a father to many, whose generosity and commitment to humanity transcended borders.”
The funeral in Madina, according to the statement; is expected to draw state and federal delegation, family members, business associates, Islamic scholars, and admirers from across the world, all united in prayer for the repose of his soul.
