A famous Kano industrialist and hotelier, Tahir Fadlallah, is dead.
He died at the age of 74 in Beirut, Lebanon on Friday morning.
He was the Chief Executive Officer of the famous Tahir Guest Palace.
He was admitted to Clemenceau Medical Center in Beirut on April 15 and remained in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital until his death, it was learned.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, has confirmed the businessman’s demise in a Facebook post.
“We have lost Tahir. May Allah grant him Aljannah”, the spokesperson wrote on Friday morning.
Mr Fadlallah was flown from Kano to Beirut on April 23, 2020 after developing complications of Covid-19.
The industrialist had been bedridden since he was flown to Beirut two years ago, family sources said.
The late hotelier’s remains would be buried in Kano, according to his will, it was gathered.
He was born on February 5, 1948 in Beirut, Lebanon.
Mr Fadlallah settled in Kano with his parents when he was two years old.
He left behind a wife and five children.
In May 2020, Mr Fadallah was honoured alongside 81 other notable individuals by Kano State Government for his contributions to the development of the state.
